Week 15 Logan Utah

 Bonjour à vous tous!

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas! I sure did!

This week we had a zone conference in Brigham City. We were able to meet together as three zones. We received some great instruction and council from our mission president on how to become better missionaries. It was way fun to learn and be with everyone there.

On Christmas eve, our neighbors who live next door brought us an entire ham and potatoes for us to bake (as we aren't allowed to accept food that is homemade)! It was so kind and generous of them!

On Christmas day we had a zoom with the entire mission and then we called home to our families. It was way fun to be able to talk with my family and enjoy a little bit of their Christmas day!

This week we were able to continue teaching Ryleigh who is preparing to be baptized on Jan 19th. We also got the chance to meet Jess, who is also learning. She has a strong testimony of the Book of Mormon and we will continue to meet with her! We also were able to talk to Deejay. He is a student at USU from Micronesia! We are currently teaching him as well.

On Sunday I was able to speak in church in two of our wards. I talked about how with the new year coming up, we can set our goals and resolutions to become more like Jesus Christ. He set the perfect example of how we should live our lives. As we strive to use the Atonement in our lives, we can be perfected in him!

Week 14 Logan Utah

 Bonjour à vous tous!

This week was a great week!

On Tuesday we did some service at the food pantry in Logan it was fun!

On Thursday we went down to Brigham for a meeting with all of the new missionaries in the Ogden mission. It was really fun.

On Sunday we taught Ryleigh for the first time. She had been going to church and reading the Book of Mormon to know if it was true. One day she woke up really early and couldn't go back to sleep. She decided to read the Book of Mormon and she knew that she wanted to be baptized.

We had a lesson with her and I invited her to follow the example of Jesus Christ and be baptized! She said yes and was in tears. We are so happy and excited for her.

As we have faith in our Savior and follow His example, we can have His grace through the power of His atonement.

Joyeux Noël to all! I wish all of you a Merry Christmas this week!

Week 13 in Logan Utah

 Bonjour à vous tous!

I had another great week here in Logan Utah! It was awesome this Sunday to go to all of our wards and listen to all of the Christmas musical numbers!

It finally snowed here in Logan today! It was awesome to see everything covered in white! Way fun!

Also this evening Elder Wight and I were able to hand out pizzas and cookies to a bunch of the students here. It was way fun to say hi to everyone.

I guess that also means I did my first door knock too lol.

I love my Savior, Jesus Christ. I know that he is everyone's Redeemer. He is with us always.

Week 12 in Logan Utah

 Bonjour à vous tous!

On Wednesday, I headed off to the Utah Ogden mission until I can get a visa for the Congo! For the last 6 weeks I've been doing online MTC to learn French and how to be a missionary. It was really great!

We flew up to Utah a week early to have Thanksgiving with family, so on Wednesday I was able to get dropped off in Ogden at the mission office and meet President and Sister Hobbins! They are great people and love their missionaries.

On Wednesday all of the new missionaries had some training and got to meet our companions and find out where we would be going!

My companion is Elder Wight! He is from Maryland. He's been on his mission for 16 months. He's awesome and a great trainer. Pics below.

I'm serving up at Utah State University in Logan Utah, we live just off-campus in a little apartment. We live with two other Elders, Elder Larsen and Elder Weyand! Elder Larsen is from Southern California, he was serving in the Ivory Coast for about 7 months speaking French, but because of covid, he got reassigned here. Elder Weyand is from North Carolina and had his call to Zimbabwe French-speaking as well but he got temporarily reassigned here too! It's been awesome to have 3 French speakers in the apartment! We study French together every day.

Elder Wight and I are over the Logan YSA 2nd Stake, there are 7 wards in the stake. The Stake consists of a bunch of apartment buildings and student housing.

Since we aren't allowed to meet with anyone in person or knock doors, we try to work with the members over the phone to find people to teach over zoom. Its difficult right now because of finals and online classes, many of the students have gone home or are really busy.

I've really enjoyed my first week here! I've already learned so much and can't wait to keep improving! My testimony of the Savior has grown immensely. I know that through Him, we can receive the joy and happiness that he wants for us. Especially during this Christmas season, we can remember the birth of our Savior and His sacrifice for each of us!

If you know anyone who would like to get my emails that isn't on this list, let me know!

Au revoir!
