Week 27 - Riverdale Utah

 Bonjour à tous!

This week was great! We had super nice weather for most of the week! In the upper 60s and sunny!

We met with a lot of members this week and had another great lesson with Audrianna, a returning member.

We also met and started teaching the Sund family. They have been meeting with missionaries for almost 8 years. They have 4 kids and are super nice! We look forward to seeing them and getting to know them better.

Yesterday was my last time going to church in the Utah Ogden mission. Its crazy how time flies. The next time I go to church it will be in Africa! I will fly out on the 9th!

One of the members we visited with this week had a 1955 record playing juke box! Super cool.

Au revoir

Week 26 - Riverdale, Utah

 Bonjour à tous!

This week was pretty crazy.

We found a family of 5 kids who are half siblings. None of them have been baptized but some of their parents are members. We started teaching all of them!

Another person we are teaching is Adrianna, she is in her 30s and she was baptized when she was 8 but never went to church. She has two kids. We taught her about the restoration and she was in tears at the end. Everything clicked for her! We will start teaching her whole family the rest of the lessons this week!

We did a lot of service this week. We helped an African American family move their grandma named Betty out of her home. The whole family was Southern Baptist. On the second day of helping them, we came over to find out that a family member had picked up Betty's medications and put them in the moving truck. After pulling out a couple of boxes to no avail. We decided to say a prayer with the family to help us find the box that they were in. After saying that prayer we were able to find the box soon after! The family knew their prayer had been answered.

On Saturday I was sitting in my apartment doing language study when all of the sudden I hear two giant crashes right outside. I looked out the window to see that a car smashed right through our brick mailbox and crashed into our neighbor's tree! The 60-year-old lady had a seizure while driving and she lost control of her car. She seemed alright. We called the police and got her an ambulance. Her car was totaled, and our mailbox is gone now.

Anyways this week I noticed how much the lord is in the details of our life. Our Heavenly Father knows each of us and is always directing our paths to help us return to him. We just have to be willing to let God prevail in our lives!

Au revoir!

Week 25 - Riverdale, Utah

 Bonjour à tous!

So on Tuesday, I got a call from the mission office to tell me that I got my visa! However, I won't be leaving until April 8th. So another month to serve in the Utah Ogden mission! Which isn't a bad thing since I love it here.

We have been getting fed a ton since they changed our covid guidelines last week so that we can accept food from members. We have way too many enchiladas and lasagnas. I'm glad I'll only be here for just one more month because I'm not sure how much more food I can eat in one week 😅

Anyways, the work is still moving forward here in Riverdale! Because we can accept rides from members we are able to get to places much faster and get to some of the areas we haven't been able to go to in the past because of the distance. It's nice to be able to get around much faster!

Week 24- Riverdale, Utah

Bonjour à tous!

So I got a call on Tuesday that my visa wasn't going to arrive in time for me to fly out on Thursday to Congo. So I'm still here in Ogden Utah!

My visa should arrive this week so I should be flying out this week as well.

We had Zone Conference which was fun.

Also, our covid restrictions got lessened! We are now able to have food dropped off! And we can take rides with members!

Other than that nothing too crazy this week happened!

Au revoir,

Week 23 -- Riverdale, UT To the Congo!!!

Ok, so this week was really crazy.

So last week after I sent my email, I was on Facebook, and I saw that the Elder I was supposed to be training got his visa to go to the Congo!

And then the next day I got my flight itinerary to Congo!!!

So since Wednesday, I've been with Elder Copada in Riverdale UT.

Elder Copada is reassigned from the Philippines. It's been fun together!

Tomorrow I will get a covid test and then fly Thursday morning to Atlanta then to Paris and then to Brazzaville. I'll get to congo at 9 pm on Friday!

I've enjoyed my time here in Utah and look forward to going to Congo!

Au revoir!
